Ophelia washed up along the
edges of the Black Zone, a pitiful scrap still mostly girl, a drug addict
sleeping in alleyways, looking no further than her next high. It was
an existence she chose, a slow death by her own hand, punishment for her
mistakes. The return to life was slow, helped along by her involvement in
Armaments, Ltd.. In time, Aeris, Duke Borel's daughter and Ophelia's
mother, found where her daughter was hiding and brought her home to Hendrake. Ophelia was aware of how much of a misfit she had become within Hendrake, and never lost a searing self-consciousness about it, making her easy prey to her uncle Orrian’s scheme with Dalt, to create an alliance between Dalt and Hendrake that hinged on Ophelia bearing his child. It was an arrangement that never had the approval of Hendrake’s lord. For years, it served only to push her further from Hendrake, but her relationship with Dalt had begun. She bore him twins the first time, Rya and Darius. By an agreement with Dalt, for ten years they were hers alone, five years in a place Dalt chose, and five years in Hendrake. At the end of that decade, she agreed to marry him. Their relationship is private, and little is known of it. Ophelia is quiet and confident beside him, and they have another daughter, named Kateryn. The alliance Orrian envisioned for Hendrake is now slowly working out under Felix’s leadership. |
